emos

EMOS uses any web browser to access the applications and data running on EMOS server. The system uses secure Internet channels (https). All administration tasks can be undertaken using the web browser interface; no specific hardware or software is required to use the system.

EMOS will provide a personalised view and include both global and variable content as provided and maintained by the airline’s staff.

EMOS has the following capabilities:

Engineering Notices

This aspect of the system satisfies JAR/CAA requirement for the airline to distribute important safety/security and operational information to engineers. Unlike the paper based system, this allows a full on-line audit report to be available to managers and the regulator. Notices appear on the system instantly; for safety or security information the timeliness of these messages is crucial and unmatched by paper based processes.

Notices can be published to defined staff roles and assigned to categories in text, PDF or FlashPaper format. Engineers (or any accountable role) can acknowledge/sign for notices.

EMOSElectronic Library

The on-line reference library replaces the practice of producing and distributing company manuals on CD Rom or paper. The on-line library contains the definitive collection of books and can be referenced securely anywhere with an Internet connection. Automatic archiving of participating manuals is also achieved thereby satisfying JAR/CAA requirements. EMOS is also able to provide a secure single-sign-on solution to external technical libraries hosted by third party library service providers.

Report System

The report system is a highly structured and auditable way to provide feedback to selected managers about important aspects of the operation. The system allows the author to remain involved in the process and provides a structured data source which can then be used to construct audits which highlight trends.

Expense Claim Management

An expense claim management system is built in to EMOS. This allows each member of staff to electronically submit expense claims and then track these claims through to approval. The airline’s administrative staff can approve, deny or return claims to the staff member; the entire process is designed to minimise delays in payment, and eliminate paper from the process.

In common with all aspects of EMOS the system uses structured data to provide audits and analysis to spot unusual trends or predict operating costs.

Training Forms and Records

EMOS provides electronic training forms along with on-line questionnaires and surveys which can be used to deliver technical refresher training and capture staff feedback. These forms, questionnaires and surveys are part of a managed and auditable workflow system which reduces the administration effort and provides structured information for analysis.

The training report system provides each user with an electronic training folder. Training managers can access these folders and extract data for trend, risk and performance analysis purposes.

The training system is entirely auditable by the airline’s engineering auditors.

Users can complete examinations at the time and place of their choosing. Managers can configure on-line surveys to gather valued opinion from the workforce. Electronic exams and surveys are available to all staff, individuals or groups.

Company Forms

The airline’s admin forms can be provided in a PDF library of forms, or optionally (as an Additional Development) by custom developed forms delivering data by e-mail to accountable managers.

audit capabilities

A key provision in EMOS is its ability to provide detailed audit reports about individual usage, Engineers notice acknowledgement, library revision status, training/assessment performance, exam/survey results, expense claim information and report categories. Audits are made available through EMOS to managers or external auditors and provide a basic form of intelligent data analysis.

data analysis

EMOS provides a capability to maintain a structured database. This data allows for detailed predictive analysis by exporting to specialised intelligent data analysis tools. The data can also (using industry standard data formats) be used to update databases containing Engineers records and safety/flight/service quality information without the costs associated with manual data entry; this subject to third party application vendors co-operation. Additionally, archiving of flight data to satisfy the requirements of the regulator and the distribution of feedback from the Engineers to a responsible manager is simplified.

system administration

The EMOS administration site provides access to all documents, plus membership and configuration information; almost all aspects of the EMOS system are customisable by the airline’s EMOS administrator. Training will be provided for this role with on-going technical support.

The structured way data is validated and collected in EMOS makes integration with other systems possible. This will always be dependent upon feasibility and co-operation with other vendors and may be subject to fees in accordance with Additional Developments.
